How does credit card usage prior to filing affect your bankruptcy?

If you decided to file bankruptcy, you should no longer use your credit cards or make any cash advances.  In general, creditors have the right to object to the discharge of purchases or cash advances made at anytime based on fraud.  Also, within 90 days prior to filing purchases of more than $500 for luxury goods or services (anything that is not necessities) are presumed non-dischargeable.  Furthermore, cash advances of more than $750.00 are presumed non-dischargeable if made within 70 days prior to filing.

Please call for a free, no obligation, initial consultation with a bankruptcy lawyer to evaluate your specific financial circumstances to see if it makes sense for you to file for Bankruptcy at (610) 935-5555.  To ask a question or schedule an appointment please click here.
